Old Sculptures

Abstract Plaster

The goal of this sculpture, “Unknown” was to feel as though it relates to the human scale. It’s form was inspired by other modernist abstract sculpture, especially by the work of Barbara Hepworth.

This sculpture was created by mixing a batch of plaster with powdered drawing graphite and pouring it into a bag. The bag was then tied and squished between the bottom of the artist’s feet, and then subsequently modified and refined until it’s final form was revealed.
